A bomb blast in Maiduguri,
Borno State, this evening, Wednesday, June 3, has killed six people, sources
told AFP.
The blast, believed to have been
carried out by Boko Haram terrorists, occurred at a garage opposite a military
unit in Baga Road at about 5:30 pm.
“We have so far recovered six dead
bodies. We are still working at the scene, so the casualties may rise,” Danladi Ajaokuta, a civilian vigilante told AFP.
The terrorists have launched series
of deadly attacks on Maiduguri since the inauguration of President Muhammadu
Buhari on Friday, May 29, who described the sect as “godless” and
“mindless” in his speech.
The insurgents had killed many in
Maiduguri on Saturday, May 29 after launching an attack with rocket-propelled
grenades. Just hours after the attack, a suicide bomber killed 26 at a city
mosque in the town.
